We are still awaiting word that Asha's passport has been received, but in the mean time, we are snacking and packing! A considerable amount of thought has to go into getting all the gifts and donations, and our clothes, and Asha's clothes and gear, into two suitcases and two carry ons. We are enjoying every minute of it though, because it means we are closer to travel than ever before!
I have been eagerly awaiting the day when we could put the car seat in the car, therefore indicating that a child is in our family! Apparently these little contraptions are much more complicated than one would have thought, and it took some maneuvering to get it adjusted right. But right it now is, and ready we are. I am back to sleeping with my cell phone, jumping at the email ding, and feeling distracted by thoughts of Asha and India. Oh I hope that passport comes soon!

Few things made us feel as inept as putting together baby gear for the first time! :o)
ReplyDeleteI just love seeing your suitcases packed -- your travel is just around the corner. I am so excited for your "turn" landing in India and meeting your sweet Asha.

The smile on your face says it all. Hooray! Yes, the husbands always get the car seat job...lovin' that! Can't wait to hear that that final okay to travel has come!

Praying that it'll come quickly!

Wow! Pictures to back up all the organization stories. I am SO impressed. If I weren't so embarrassed we'd put our pictures up--but it would be little piles all over the house. As if there was any question--you are ready!

I can't wait for the pic when you are unpacking those bags with Asha crawling all over and in the suitcases. You do get the award for most organized:) Yeah for packing!!!
ReplyDeleteNice snacking and packing guys! What's that thing on the floor that looks like a million bottles of nail polish? You guys are ready to go!!! Make sure you take a picture of Asha IN your suitcase. Somehow we have a lot of those of Josh and Eliza. Love you both!!!

Such fun looking pictures except for the car seat deal

that is always the job for Shane:) I know u must be so excited. Soon the news will come. Gidget:)
Love the photo. I was such a nut about transporting the toiletry donations we brought for the orphanage staff. I literally tested the sturdiness of every shampoo cap in Target to make sure it wouldn't leak all over the other donations. I also put them all in Gallon Ziploc bags as an extra safety measure. Wouldn't you know that the only thing that came open in our suitcase was a container of oatmeal!!! (request from our orphanage director.). We were picking oats out of clothes our entire trip but that's a whole lot better than shampoo.
