India Here We Come!

I am writing this post from the San Francisco airport! In one hour, we depart for India, and our Asha. It feels completely surreal. The past couple of days have found me wondering what it will be like to have a little person in our home. As I took a shower this morning, I thought, this is the last shower I'll take without Asha in our home. As I looked at the stars last night, checked the mail, watered the plants, unloaded the dishwasher, I recognized how my life will be irrevocably changed. We are incredibly excited, exhausted, and relieved to be finally in the airport with nothing else left to do! The adventure begins!!!

I realized that I never posted pictures of Asha's completed room. Here it is. The next time we see it, Asha will be in the pictures :)

My parents took us to lunch and drove us to the airport, what a great send off!

The Luggage!! It is no small feat to pack for 2 adults and one child, in two checked bags. There are 40 ayah gifts in these bags.

  2. There's something so poignant about these pictures . . . you'll be a family of three, the grandparents will be over the moon, and the nursery will be occupied! Happy travels, and Godspeed on the way to meet Asha!

  6. WhooHoo! I had you on my mind all day and especially while we were having our dinner...knowing that you were in the air and on your way. Can't wait to follow your journey and looking forward to the changes in our conversations from chatting about another delay or pointers on what to bring to India to hearing all about the wonderful changes and growth that you see in your precious girl once she is safely in your arms and home.

    Safe travels!

  9. How exciting! We have been following "your & Asha's story" through updates from Emily's mom & then via my parents! We are thrilled to learn that you are on your way to meet your daughter! We will pray for your safe travels, initial meeting, bonding time together, & that all the paperwork is processed smoothly!!! Adoption is a wonderful blessing to all those involved! We, of course, know this through experience. Our love & prayers are with you every step of the way! Jen, Jeff Seifert & family (Nate & Becky's daughter & family) :)
