Happy 1st Birthday Asha!

Today our sweet girl is one! And I spent the day in the most perfect way possible, with two dear friends as they delivered their baby boy at home. It felt wonderfully poignant to be present at this birth on the day that our Asha came into the world. And Asha and the new baby, George, will forever share birthdays! Our plans to open presents and eat cake will be delayed until tomorrow, as I was gone for 10 hours at the birth. Thank you all for your prayers and birthday wishes today. I know Asha felt our love, and I'm so glad she'll have her playmate George to share this story with in years to come!

  1. Looks like God gave you a way to be filled with JOY on this special day as you witnessed one of God's miracles.:) Hoping you get some fast movement after this little hault you've been in. It can happen...when I was least expecting...Maiya's flew threw the courts. I still remember coming out of Walmart and Tami calling!!
We just finalized last week,I posted some pictures too. You all have got lots of great things to look forward too.:) Gidget

  2. Happy Birthday, sweet Asha! What a blessing to share your birthday with a friend who is waiting for you to come home. Emily, I am so glad that God gave you such a wonderful experience on a day that is so difficult. What a great memory George and Asha, and your two families can share in years to come. Have fun celebrating your precious girl with cake, presents, and lots of pictures. Hoping that things begin to move quickly. Hang in there!

  3. Many happy birthday wishes are coming your way, lovely Asha! How difficult it is to be apart on this day . . . I'm glad you're celebrating anyway, so that Asha will understand how much you loved her even before you met her.

What an honor to be there for George's birth! That is truly one of the most miraculous things anyone can experience . . . the other one I'm thinking of (of course) is that first moment when you meet your much-longed-for child on the other side of the world.

As Nancy said, your first meeting with Asha will be an amazing day! I cannot even begin to tell you what a feeling that will be... I love to relive it every time a family is getting close!

Much love and blessing to you!

  6. Can't think a better way to spend that day, other than to have been with Asha herself.
