Look at that soulful expression!
Oh, she sucks her thumb!
Look at that cute little smirk, and those yummy toes.Kirk and I have spent countless hours, pouring over baby names and their meanings. We knew we wanted an Indian name, to honor our daughter's birth country and heritage. Through our months of searching, one name just stuck with us. We kept coming back to it, and nothing else felt quite as right. And the meaning of this name, the meaning is perfectly poignant. Our sweet little girl is our hope, and that is what her name means. So without further ado, we'd like to introduce you to Asha! We will keep Moni as her middle name, as this name feels special and important and connects our daughter to the children's home, the ayahs, and her friends and crib mates. I am saying her name over and over, throughout the day, almost like a chant. When I look at her little face in these pictures, I see my Asha!

Oh, Emily, I love her name. It is so precious. I am so happy for you and Kirk. Congrats!

Having new pictures is absolutely the best part of the post-referral wait. She is so lovely! "Asha" is a wonderful name -- we spent (and are again spending) lots of time thinking about names. Isn't it neat how the right one just stands out, suddenly?

Love the name!! I have always been partial to giving our girls from Matri Sneha an Indian name. Asha was one I always loved. And Moni looks like an Asha, too! What a beautiful name for a perfectly beautiful baby girl. Congrats again!!

She is adorable, especially the one with her sucking her thumb! I love the name Asha Moni, I have a "hope" plaque by my kitchen sink that got me this far. What an amazing meaning. Names are tough...we are still deciding on the name for our Vikram. Asha looks so sweet, too. I am so excited for you and hope that maybe we will be in India at the same time?
ReplyDeleteI love Asha. And our daughter's name is Zaleeya PRATIMA Dhalla. It's good to honor their beginnings. :)
